Title says it all really, congrats on the huge union and striking movements going on around the world right now. However, take care that the fruits of these labours don't turn sour against us.
Right now in the UK there are a series of union train strikes going on and as a regular commuter I personally have mixed opinions about it.
On one hand, good for the working man standing up for themselves to carve out a decent quality of life for themselves when those that could have provided it choose not to.
On the other hand, I am 100% certain that when they do succeed that rail fair will just increase to compensate for their wages. So what will actually happen is that people like myself will just be paying more money for their wages and most people already earn a lot less than the train staff and will effectively earn even less.
These strikes are great but we need to follow through with more action to make sure that the rich don't just push the costs right back onto us. We need to support laws and vote in politicians that will keep companies in check and need to keep fighting against those that would do otherwise!
