Can I be denied unemployment after getting fired as a result of refusing to return to office?

Hey everyone. I'm in an interesting situation with my employer, a private university. I posted last week explaining that the majority of my team had been fired on the spot. I've since learned that the external firm brought in to replace them doesn't employ a designer or developer, giving myself and my remaining coworker a bit of leverage. I've read on Maine's Department of Labor site that I can be denied if I was “discharged or fired for misconduct”. Does getting fired as a result of that ultimatum fall into this category? Would also love some information on what qualifies you for a severance package. My coworkers obviously received them after being fired “without cause”, but would I for being fired “with cause”? Any help would be much appreciated!
