Hi all, need some help with how to respond to a denial of bereavement leave. My sister in law passed away a few weeks ago. Policy states that siblings are eligible for 3 days of leave. I took 2 and am being denied ANY time off at all. The company stated they ‘are sorry to tell me this’ but I have to use PTO for all of it. I’m not asking what my rights are, but how to respond in a way that makes clear how utterly ridiculous it is to differentiate between my sibling and my husband’s sibling.
