So, I'm in the construction field, and I've been working non-union the whole time. Always knew I've been getting a bit under union wages, but I liked the company I worked for and the work I did.
Things have changed over the past couple of years though. We keep getting shafted in terms of daily labor and all sorts of other shit that we have to do. Management seems more and more incompetent in terms of bidding and all that crap. Plus there's a whole fiasco I'm going through with some wage theft stuff.
So, finally took the plunge and called a union rep amd hopefully I'll be getting a job with a good union company and coming in as a journeyman. Benefits and drawbacks for everything, but I'm hoping the increased income will make things more tolerable.
