Reading isn’t professional-?

Let me start off by saying I really like my job. I like my colleagues and I like interacting with different people every day. I work at an info desk so I just answer questions all day, but there’s a LOT of downtime. So when I first got hired I brought sudoku books, books to work so I didn’t lose my mind. But my boss told me she didn’t want me doing any of that because “it’s not professional looking.” So now I spend every work day reading ebooks and watching YouTube documentaries. You’re telling me that sitting in front of a screen watching YouTube all day is more professional than reading a physical book? Someone PLEASE make it make sense
