I worked in retail auto parts. My manager let the #1 shop customer walk all over him every which way to Saturn any time of the day. I made a small mistake that was quickly corrected, but in that small amount of time the customer called and woke my manager up throwing a huge fit. Manager walks through the front door a bit later immediately laying into me. I try explaining what was going on, but he doesn’t want to hear it and continues to berate me while telling me to shut up. I tell him I’ll talk if I want. He says to clock out and go home (unpaid). I say I quit and hand him the keys.
