I recently interviewed for a local restaurant as a cashier. The hiring manager advised me that during the first two months (probation period) I will not receive tips. After the two months is over I will start to receive tips. Is this legal? They want to hire me but now I’m having second thoughts because of the tip withholding. What should I do?
