my boss got mad at me because a woman couldn’t remember her own pin

english is not my first language my (17F) uncle (39M, mom's brother) just started a small business, I'd call it a corner shop or something like that, we sell food items and some personal hygiene ones as well, along with candy and other stuff, the place is this woman's (my boss) property but the business itself it's my uncle's as well as 80% of the things we sell, i started working two weeks ago and i worked before at another small business he had made a year ago (his wife takes care of that one now), i work as a cashier technically, i also clean up and make the shelves look pretty in my country it's a normal thing to send kids for errands, usually as long as they can remember what they're buying they're fine because some parents send them with debit cards and the pin, ID number and…

my (17F) uncle (39M, mom's brother) just started a small business, I'd call it a corner shop or something like that, we sell food items and some personal hygiene ones as well, along with candy and other stuff, the place is this woman's (my boss) property but the business itself it's my uncle's as well as 80% of the things we sell, i started working two weeks ago and i worked before at another small business he had made a year ago (his wife takes care of that one now), i work as a cashier technically, i also clean up and make the shelves look pretty

in my country it's a normal thing to send kids for errands, usually as long as they can remember what they're buying they're fine because some parents send them with debit cards and the pin, ID number and type of account written down (that's the three things required to know when using a debit card in my country) but some others make their kids memorize it down so they can just go whenever it's needed without having to write it

well today this kid (around 6 or 7) comes in when my boss left me alone for a couple hours with his mom's card of course, he wants to buy a liter of orange juice, he tells me the data and the machine says the pin is wrong, i obviously explain to him that the pin is wrong, that if he's sure he didn't get it wrong (he has to tell me the pin so i put it in the machine when running the card, and believe me it's very rare to see card fraud here because there's no way in hell im remembering every pin I'm told)

he is insistent he did get it right, and that he just bought something at another store, so i say alright and do it again: wrong pin. in my country when you put the wrong pin number three times your card gets blocked and you have to contact your bank about it, it's a kinda long process but it doesn't cost any money to get it unlocked or anything. so i tell him “hey i can't run your card again or it'll be blocked, go get your mom and tell her to write the pin down for you please?”

five minutes later comes the mother and she starts screaming at me for not taking the card and how dare i, when i explain the situation to her she's even angrier because she was the one who taught him the pin and yadda yadda so i say “okay ma'am let's do it the third time and I'll let you put the pin yourself”

we do it and guess what?

card. blocked.

she now yells at me that it's my fault and that i have to give her the item for free for the inconvenience and that she'll be calling the cops on me and she also went on a very racist rant lol (I'm very visibly black lmao), when my boss gets back the lady is still berating me while I just nod because honestly I'm not getting paid enough to fix a problem she can solve for free by calling the bank

when my boss arrives the angry woman tells her i purposefully locked her card and that now she has to contact the bank and when i tell my side of the story and show my boss the security camera that showed the woman putting her own pin she takes the lady's side, so now i got out of my paycheck the orange juice the woman wanted and now my boss is very mean when speaking to me as opposed to her usually sweet demeanor she had the first two weeks before this incident idk if i should tell my uncle because he's been having issues at his house and he lives in another city next to mine, I've only told my sister and idk if i should tell my mom too

also for clarification the juice was around 1,50$ and i get paid 15$ per week (i work 5 days a week) it wasn't that expensive but it's still my money and I'm trying to save up for university and moving out expenses
