My company just cut my base salary to minimum wage and claims it will encourage us to earn more in commission

I work for a fitness company in the sales department and earn commission based on how big a contract we write for those who want personal training. Our base pay was 3k a month plus a percentage of total sales made per pay period. Each pay period was two weeks. Our president just slashed base salaries to minimum wage and changed the commission structure and told us that salaries are for “complacent people who don’t know how to work hard.” Meanwhile, the new structure coupled with decrease in base pay earns us LESS overall after taxes. He also expects us to work 9-8 Monday through Thursday and 9-3 Friday, while strongly encouraging us to come in on Saturdays. Apparently not having any free time and making it harder to have a security net to pay bills will make us try harder. What the Fuck is that logic? Needless to say…
