Not going to work this weekend

I work in IT for a major hospital network in the northeast US. I've been working for this particular network through different contractors for the past year and finally got hired on as a full-time employee, and thought I had struck it, and got my career really started. I was hired as a M-F employee. This week, my entire team was notified we would start working weekends, and schedules randomly were made for everyone. I was scheduled this week to work the whole week, plus weekend (7 days in a row), have one day off and then work 4 more days. The kicker is that because the pay periods are Sunday-Saturday, I'd get one day of overtime for this ordeal. These employers don't care about your outside life, any plans you already had, or your mental well being. And I am fed up with it. Just wanted to share this to let people know to not let your job walk over you, ultimately, we work to live, not live to work.
