Lemme start by asking what the fuck goes on in some peoples heads? I was laid off from my job that I genuinely enjoyed so I went in for an interview today for a similar role. Things were going ok until we got to pay and let’s say “benefits”. I’d be doing much more for less than I was making before and when asked if I would be willing to work 6 days a week, I said “yes as long as overtime is offered”. This man really looked me dead in the face and said they pay under the table for anything over 40 hours and they don’t do time and a half. What? So I would be paid normal rate in cash. Not to mention, no pto, no sick time, and they don’t deduct income tax from pay.
He wanted me to come in Monday to start working and the company would pay me under the table until I was hired on officially. Probably calling the labor board because those employees are getting screwed at this place
