I got fired unexpectedly from my small business/Photography studio a couple weeks ago. I’d been there since 2015, and my now ex boss started as a coworker and friend before becoming my boss/business owner late 2017. I was of course the last of the “old crew” who was a part of the business before they became the owner. We were very close friends for a long time. They’ve known me longer than my husband, photographed my Covid backyard wedding, I’ve held their youngest kids as babies.
It fucking hurts. I liked/loved my job. I was good at it, and most of the online reviews since I joined the company mention me by name. I lost 98% of my portfolios because most work in the past 7.5 I’ve done is under that company’s copyright.. even pics I did for friends who “insisted” on paying the small business.
Just wanted to rant, and put the reminder that your loyalty to a business means NOTHING when they decide they don’t need you anymore.
