I posted earlier this week about a job that ghosted me for a week after hiring me.
Turns out the owner talked to some friends of his, and decided to retract his offer after hearing that I'm a “bad person with a history of interpersonal issues.”
I asked him If he was willing to explain and Basically got told that he heard some gossip from friends of his. He wouldn't explain whether I had worked with these people or not. Which I get to a point, but it felt just…high-school clicky.
The entire thing was vague and confusing. I know I've worked with people that don't like me and that I don't like, but to be told that I'm considered a bitch to people he knows and that he hopes someone would be willing to look the other way but he wouldn't sent me. I've never had such a cop-out and unprofessional phone call.
