So I got this job through a staffing agency and been working there for about a month and a half. I knew pretty early on during training it wasn't the right fit, and I was going to try it out for awhile. But at some point I just knew I couldn't drag it on and just felt so negative about it, so I talked to my boss and ended up giving a month notice (yeah, never again I know). The company had weird communication, basically none at all, and I was just tired of how the company ran.
So after I gave notice things were slightly awkward with my boss – we would work together alone in a building pretty much every day, in a random isolated office. But he had lots of meetings so I would work alone too. But anyway, it's been about 3 weeks since I gave notice, and I had to take a couple days off last week because I was sick and the agency had intense covid rules. Then on Friday I went in, worked for a couple hours, and felt bad again, so I had to leave early.
Later that day, the agency calls and tells me my boss had contacted them, they found my replacement, and they wanted me to drop off my keys (to the office) at their office. And it was my last day of work. No contact from boss. No email, no last day to straighten up my desk, just nothing. My boss never wanted to see me again. No check-in to see if there was anything to finish. This happened like 3 days ago, and I have been feeling so weird, like I can't move past it because I can't believe it's just over. I know I gave notice and should've expected this, but they were just like “fuck you” except they didn't, all I got was silence. I just don't know how to feel lol. Like I'm happy the job is over, but I wanted to have things end on a better note? I honestly feel so weird that they would choose this, and it makes me feel so shitty.
