AITA for wanting the construction Industry to tank? (America BTW)

Lately I've been noticing a lot of construction sights popping up in town that have few workers and take forever to be finished (roads especially). When i inquire about it most just say they're short staff and trying to put the fires out etc. It's really inconvenient at times to avoid, but a part of me is kind of happy that they can't find anyone! Is it just me? I get that construction workers work super hard in the elements and they have needs and families. I want these people to have means to care for those families, can't help but feel like construction is horrible though. Where i live the road pavements never seem to last long and constantly have potholes no matter how many times it's “fixed”. Extra houses are being built that locals can't afford anyway, making housing prices crazy. It's hard on worker bodies for sure…

It's hard on worker bodies for sure and the environment is def not benefiting from deforestation to disruptions to the ecosystems. Some times it just feels like they are building rich people play things instead of investing in the houses/communities that really need their skillset/repairs.

So AITA or does anyone else feel similarly?
