Micromanaging Coworker

In need of some advice on how to handle a non-manager micromanaging coworker. I started with this company about 4 months ago. Things were going great and I was catching on quickly. I had to report to a manager and supervisor if I had scheduling issues or concerns. Well the manager responsible for the dept of 5-6 people quit abruptly due to power struggle with supervisor who’s been in the company for eons. She’s more hands off and he wanted better procedures in place. Well my “team lead” whatever that means and I took on some extra duties given by supervisor and upper management because there was no replacement for our dept manager.
Now.. my team lead begins clocking my every move. Instantly calling my supervisor if he hasn’t seen me and I’m a few minutes late or stuck in traffic. I usually shoot her a text and she says be safe rather than rush and doesn’t have an issue as life happens and I get my work done. He checks my work daily and will send me reminders that I don’t need to do tasks. He constantly talks to my office mate about me behind my back. He also spread rumors about another coworker and “warned” me to avoid her. He calls my ext and critiques my notes. My supervisor also confirmed he has an obsession with me and my work and she can’t figure out why. My office mates have told me they think he’s obviously intimidated by me. I get that I’m new and may need pointers at times but this is starting to give me extreme anxiety and I don’t think it’s being handled properly. I have made a report to my supervisor and have highlighted in the handbook his violations as well as printing out his condescending emails in case I lose access. Had anyone dealt with this? Need advice. Do I maliciously comply?
