I feel like jobs say they’re hiring when they really aren’t

I’m a 26 year old male and I’ve worked at a grocery store for the last 6 years. Not only have I been loyal to this place but I’ve also worked in 4 different departments and know quite a bit. Unfortunately I’ve been stuck at part time and wanted to explore my options so I applied to Whole Foods grocery store for full time and they just got back to me saying they’re sorry but they’ve decided to move on with other candidates and I’m truly confused as to why? I have the experience, I’ve worked in numerous departments and I’ve been at my store for a while so it shows I’m loyal. What the hell could I have possibly be missing? I’m just confused on why we hear “there’s plenty of jobs out there looking for work” but not only from my experience but I’ve heard from a lot…
