So ive been at the factory ive been working at for about a year now. The pay is decent, and the people I work with are nice.
The problem is, I dont like the work im doing. Since ive started, theyve kept me on Sanitation. There is numerous jobs in the building, and so many people are cross trained and know many parts of the building and the machines, but I have been kept too Sanitation since I started. The reason being so many people wont stay on the job so they need reliable people who are willing to stay on the job.
I feel bad they need people so bad, but I hate it, So ive been looking for a new job. The problem is, I have it so easy here that its not even funny. I show up, punch, then work an hour on, an hour off all day. Work an hour, lunch an hour. For 12 hours. Sounds super sweet, till youve watched enough netflix and scrolled enough social media you could throw your phone in the garbage. Some days I maybe do an hours worth of work in a 12 hour shift. Sometimes by my choice, sometimes there isnt much for me to do.
I like working hard, I enjoy being productive, but I also enjoy how easy my job is and I never truelly feel over worked. Would it be a wake up call getting a job anywhere else? Is there something wrong with me?
