Hey all. I recently took over as a lead of a department in a hospital. Upper management constantly keeps telling us that we should be grateful to have a job and to basically stop complaining. We worked hard as a department to get a consistent schedule and have our 2 days off consecutively. They took that away from us, and now our schedules and days off are all over place and rarely ever together. I understand we should be grateful to have a job, but should we just put up with toxic management and them not giving a shit about us.
I'm pro employee and will always be pro employee. That's why they were hesitant to give me this lead position. I don't give a fuck about the hospital and trying to get more outpatients so we can get more money for our nonprofit hospital. I went into healthcare because I give a shit about people and wanted to help people.
This managment is just draining all departments and so many people have left. The main question I have is how do I approach the be grateful to have a job stance management has.
