recently the grocery store where i work had a 15 hour sale. during the morning shift they had about 4 people working in my department, but from 2 pm -7pm i was all on my own. one of the store managers (not my department manager) told me to put out more honeycrisp apples because they were on sale (there were still plenty of apples on our display at the time) no big deal, but i had to start closing down the salad bar soon. i run to the back and grab some apples, and then some customers ask if we have anymore sweet potatoes because they didn’t like the ones we had left (manager from before saw this happen) as i ran to the back to get more, they yelled “russets too.” i scramble to find those items and the customers are gone, so i leave the box near the display and start stacking the apples. as i’m filling the apple display, the manager is lurking behind me, digging through the fresh box of apples and putting them into her own shopping cart.
god i know it’s such a small thing, but if she wanted fresh apples herself she could have gone in the back to get them, and her digging through my box made it way harder to quickly fill the display when i was already short on time.
