So I took this hybrid temp job. I had broken up with my partner and moved to a new city so just took anything to tide me over.
It's doing data entry. I am over-qualified but that isn't the point, the job is fine. Early into starting, I asked my boss if I worked the majority remotely as my team leader does the same. It's also quite a far journey for me in to the office and it gets quite expensive!
She agreed but told me to go in for 'training' days where applicable. Now I'm in the last month of the job, there is no hope of anything permenant, yet they still want me to come in for training. And by training I mean, I go in and everyone ignores me. It's really awkward, I've never worked with a bunch of ruder people. Because of this I really hate going in. It's such a long day when no-one talks to you. And I feel like it ruins my week, I leave the office feeling like complete shit every time. My team don't communicate with me, and I never know what they are up to despite reaching out to them constantly.
If companies want better work, they need to learn to be friendly or even civil towards people. Anyway, today I was meant to be in and decided to work from home. If I get sacked I get sacked, it's not worth sacraficing another week feeling like a sack of shit
