IT help desk folks- working a full day in the office the day before thanksgiving

Is anyone else being forced to sit at their desk for 8 hours the day before a major holiday, knowing that no one we provide service for will be at work that day? I work for an MSP and this whole week has been an exercise in patience and resilience. All of us at the Help Desk just sit.there all day knowing full well that our clients are all off work and will not be submitting tickets until next week. I’m confused and demoralized and have zero recourse. I think we also have to be back at work on Friday… Anyone else out there in the same boat? Note: I don’t want to use sick time because we have SO LITTLE of it and I don’t want to sacrifice my tiny pool of time off just because we’ll have nothing to do. Sorry if this is rant level, but I’m genuinely curious how many other people working in the corporate world are facing similar issues.
