Hi everyone. So I'm an admin staff in this one big company and I've been here for four years. I am very overworked, I work 8am -5 pm then once I get home, my boss gives me more work at home and even on weekends. Tho our whole company is big, this office that I belong to only has 3 employees because they didn't hire new ones for those who left during pandemic.
Now, I'm just the only one who is doing the admin stuffs in this office. I came to this point that I want to resign and finally go fulltime as freelancer.
Anyway, the main point that I want to ask for thoughts are
- I feel guilty because as I said, our office only consist of three now and the workload will definitely get stacked once I leave, that's why I'm thinking of giving them 2 months notice even if our company contract only says 1 month.
- Our last day at work before our christmas break is 20th, Is it better to tell my boss before the christmas break or I should atleast consider his feelings and just give my notice once we're back for the new year?
- I'm also thinking if its okay to just do it while christmas break, text my boss if we can get a coffee or something then resign there?
Pls let me have your thoughts because this is my first time resigning so I'm really really nervous.
