Promoted, but no pay increase. Motivation has hit an all time low

I'm not really sure how to approach this situation. This is part rant, part seeking advice on how to move forward. I was recently promoted after having an insanely busy and productive second half of this year. I was working hard for the promotion and when I was finally offered it, I inquired about whether or not there's a pay increase since nothing had been mentioned, and was told there isn't, and that I'd need to wait till next April for it. I expressed to my manager that it felt fairly upsetting to have put in all the work I did, got company wide recognition and not only did I not get a quarterly bonus for it (which I was entitled to), but there was also no pay increase. If it's a matter of waiting till April, that's fine I suppose, but how do they not realize how it negatively affects one's motivation and inclination to keep giving the same level of high output when you are told hey your role is increasing in scope and congrats on the promotion, but you won't get paid for it for another 5 months.

I'm planning to ride it out and take the new title and start searching elsewhere because this poor approach to compensating for good performance (or lack thereof) doesn't sit well with me in the long run. It's upsetting because I was doing some really damn good work and I have zero desire to keep doing that anymore now that I realize whether you put in 100% or 150%, you will just get paid for 100%.
