Looking for advice, how to get out of “mandatory” meeting & game night.

Background – I started working as a teacher in a private pre school in a wealthy suburb about 2 months ago. The offer letter I signed originally was for a small campus, but last minute i was asked to report to a different campus with a lot more kids. The second campus was closer to my home so I showed up and didn’t really put up too much of a fuss. I never signed any new contracts or offer letters. After spending time at this school I have realized that the teachers are vastly under supported, there is no training – you are just thrown into the classroom – and the teachers are overworked. I plan on leaving after the holidays. Not to mention i am currently trying to fight for the salary i was originally promised. I work 8:30-5:30 with an hour lunch break that has to be taken…

The offer letter I signed originally was for a small campus, but last minute i was asked to report to a different campus with a lot more kids. After spending time at this school I have realized that the teachers are vastly under supported, there is no training – you are just thrown into the classroom – and the teachers are overworked. I plan on leaving after the holidays. Not to mention i am currently trying to fight for the salary i was originally promised. I work 8:30-5:30 with an hour lunch break that has to be taken in the middle of the day so we are able to stay until 5:30. It is a 50 min commute both ways to work. So i am devoting about 11 hours to work.

Now to the issue – About a week ago i got a newsletter that reminded staff about the mandatory meeting/“game night” being held tonight after school hours from 6-8 that happens every other month. the idea of spending another 2 hours on campus brought me to tears, especially this regularly. I am exhausted and I just want to go home. Is this something I am able to get out of?
