Hello r/antiwork. I’m a 19 year old who is in college for automotive technology, and I’m yet to enter the workforce properly. I once had a job a year and a day ago, but it was cut short because I felt I was mistreated verbally, but that’s not the point of this post.
Can you guys please explain to me the purpose of unionizing, the pros and cons of unionizing, and why it’s becoming so prevalent on this sub recently?
I’ve been lurking this sub since I saw the bill to “avert” the railroad strike, and have been doing research; that’s come up borked. I can’t seem to understand why companies want to bust unions, and all that lingo.
I also intend to start my own business in regards to racing built parts for cars. Can you tell me if it would be a good thing to form a Union of my own, and whether it will be necessary or not? I don’t intend to act like the big companies. I want to treat my employees well and pay them the best that I can.
