Half of Vilnius (capital of Lithuania) public transport buses out of service as drivers begin strike

As the title says, public transport workers started a strike today in my home country of Lithuania. It was covered during national news, people are frustrated that now it takes 2 hours to get to work instead of half an hour and so. On the other hand, a lot of people support the workers and understand that the other side is at fault. This is generating quite a bit of heat and unwanted public attention for the local government. Edit1: what I wanted to convey is that people generally do not related to a problem until it affects them. No one paid attention to the conflict until one day, all of a sudden, they are denied of something they took for granted.
