I forgot what it was like to work union jobs. I forgot how people abuse union privileges to the extreme. I remember why I got out of them. Covid forced my employment to go back to my old line of work for a while. Some of my coworkers are so bad I've lost all respect for them. Two of them work in my department. One of them is the lead. I've lost all respect for our lead because their a slave to the pay check but refuse to quit or move on because they know they won't last one week in the real world. Poor attendance, not very nice when they're at work, call out for every weather event, has multiple health issues and refuses to take fmla when it acts up. Other staff members call out at least once a week. When employees get to 15+ yrs with the union even managers turn a blind eye to all the fluff they do. Having been successful in non union jobs for 2-3 decades I forgot how annoying unions are.
Management can't really hold people accountable for their actions so they continue to abuse union privileges.
