So I have decided to quit my current work on January 20th. But I am not sure how to approach the following situation.
Due to an ankle injury I have been working from home for the last month or so but my management is constantly asking me when I will be able to go back to the office.
I have pushed it as much as possible but unfortunately I am running out of time with my ankle being mostly healed. For the last week or so, the account manager has stopped asking when am I coming back because her assistant manager (my direct boss)quit and she has a lot more work to do now. Today she just hired a new assistant manager (my new boss), so the inquiries will likely begin this week, to see when I can go back to the office.
I am planning on asking the account manager for the opportunity to work from home indefinitely, I have my work to vouch for me, I have excellent numbers, experience working from home, etc. But I was wondering if it would be better for me to get ahead of the situation and contact the AM before she has her Assistant manager to ask me about my return?
Obviously no one on the company is aware of my plans of quitting come January but I just want to extend my home office stay as much as possible.
Thanks for any advice!
