The “we are family” rhetoric at workplaces is ramping up. Meanwhile, people with family needs who require time off are regularly denied. So, are workplaces trying to downgrade the status of actual families and replace them altogether for their employees, such that you'll just have coworkers in the future and your actual family is totally alienated (and will probably leave you)?
