So I’ve been looking everywhere for a job that could hopefully help me pay for university or at least community college

I just don't know how exactly my parents managed to “work their way” through college when they were younger, paying tuition on top of paying rent and car payments. Because almost every job I've found has been TERRIBLE in terms of pay. I'm seeing fucking manager roles for restaurants and whatnot, that pay $12-$13/hour. What the hell are they even paying their normal employees then? Is working your way through college just not a thing anymore? Like, I literally just don't see how it's even possible. So, does everyone just basically take out student loans nowadays? And I can't even get fucking financial aid worth a shit because my parents make too much money, but because THEY were able to work through and pay for their own college, they refuse to help me with mine, and call me lazy. Lmfao. They literally cannot understand that this isn't the 1980s anymore…

It just boggles my mind how awful the pay is on these jobs. I've literally been scrolling and applying on Indeed for hours. The best wage I've seen was Panda Express at $16/hr, which I hastily applied to.

Are we (Americans) actually a first world country? It kind of feels like we've devolved to a second world standard of upwards-mobility. If you're not born to rich parents who are both willing and able to pay your way through shit, you just get the shaft.
