Exempt Employee Pay Dock

I’m lucky enough to be an exempt employee and for Thanksgiving my boss was told me take an extra day off for the holidays. I was super stoked to have extra time off but just received my paycheck and saw I was docked a day’s worth of pay.. Is that legal? I thought FLSA requires exempt employees to be paid a fixed salary that cannot be reduced based on quality or quantity… Are they within their rights to dock my pay?
