So yeah, I'm an Electrician, the owner of our company, (about 30 strong) takes his family to cancun every year for the holidays, one of the contractors my boss used to heavily rely on for work has stopped building homes, residential and commercial construction in my state is still pretty busy, all the other electricians I know are pretty busy.
The dude pulled me into his office after our shop meeting on monday, and asked me if I had passed my first semester of school, to which i replied yes, well pretty much immediately after that he said, “I love you man, but i gotta lay you off”. He told me he wanted me back though, he “just doesn't know when things will pick up again”
He encouraged me to collect unemployment. I really don't know how to feel. And it sucks.
