Why aren’t Americans getting angry and protesting?

I mean like in bigger numbers. I'm am American but have lived abroad off and on. I know what it's like to have paid sick leave and paid vacation. So I will only work jobs that offer that here and it's a good thing I'm in a liberal city so most of the office jobs offer that. But with the rail strike going on I see none of my American friends are angry and encouraging the protest. I think some don't even know it's going on! I study French and one of the jokes we have is that French people protest everything and that it has even become part of their identity. I know most people my age say they wish the US was like EU countries but why aren't we organizing more and more strikes or protests? Most retail and restaurant jobs, covid already showed us that those jobs…
