My job legit asked me for gift ideas for the upcoming holiday parties/dinners/lunches, and I straight up told them
“Cash is the best motivator. Cash is the best gift from a workplace”.
They looked at me in shock like that was such a disgusting answer.
What do you want me to say?
Instead of doing these raffles, these employees would rather the cash spread across evenly and save the time going to these events they are strong-armed to attend. Any extra time they have, they want to spend with their friends and family. I'm willing to bet they'd take 20 bucks over dinner with colleagues and a chance to win a gift.
I told them at least Amazon gift cards.
