My non profit nursing home is asking for donations from its resident families for a “Christmas bonus for employees”. I have been informed we likely won’t see a cent of that money.

I work in a VA nursing home. It is on the higher end and funded by some heavy hitters in the 1%. A few days ago I was told by a work friend that an email was sent out about asking the residents families and guardians for “donations for the employee Christmas bonus.” I inquired more and she seemed to know very little beyond they’ve been doing it for years and whenever they get questions they just say “it’s okay cause we are a non profit.” I started asking around about this bonus and everyone tells me that they barely ever see it, but the admin staff regularly gets bonus and most of them already make 100k+. Our main CEO makes 250k. Does anyone know if I can report them to someone for this? This can’t be legal. Edit: I work in Virginia NOT veterans affairs. Sorry for confusion
