I've been working part-time retail for a total of 5 months. When I started, I was told by my manager to call in every friday as that's the day they print the new weeks schedule. As told, I call in the front desk to ask. Every single time, I get the same bitch that either tells me to go into work, go upstairs, and either wait around or bother upper management to print it OR if she has it, gives me one day of my schedule and then I'm supposed to find out the rest of my schedule that day. I'm beyond over this bullshit. I shouldn't have to be so inconvenienced like this just to find out what times and days I am working on the day and times I was told to do so. My schedule is so varied it's really hard to plan my week out ahead of time already with how it is let alone not having my full schedule sometimes.
I told my manager what's happening and they basically just shrugged it off. They rotate out so many people, it's like they give 0 fucks about my life outside of work and then I'm punished if I possibly miss a day because of these people.
If you want to add on to the list of other things that suck then favoritism and really personal gossip is rampant aswell.
$13/h in New Englant ain't worth this.
