Work contract states no outside work pursuits

The actual wording says no outside interests are allowed to be pursued. It was also verbally mentioned to me on induction and I was told that this is because I should 100% focus spare time on the job and if I had any pursuits, this is time I should spend growing the business. Seems sus to me. And unenforceable by law. I mean, as a parent or someone with hobbies. Technically reading the news could be considered an outside interest. Or listening to music, going to gigs. As it stands, I play in bands. 8n my spare time, not on company time, I may add. So how do you draw the distinction in law?
