I have a 6 month contract job I'm currently in. Only been here 2 and a half months. Found another job that's FTE, with some solid benefits. Sent an email to my current job giving them a week (since I figured they'd tell me to kick rocks as I've only been there a short time).
They came back begging me to stay on part time the following week because “it looks bad for them as a contracting agency” and that “not giving a week might hamper your ability to ever come back”
I agreed to it because hell, I'll take their money to not do much for 4 extra days.
Was actually shocked by this considering ever since I've joined this company, they do nothing but complain about budget cuts…
This just feels like a weird practice. I'm still not convinced they won't just tell me to pack it up.
