Long story short, I have some nice business clothes for my corporate job but not enough to wear something different to the office and meetings all the time. So this means I wear the same thing a lot and my nice work shoes are a bit scratched up after wearing them so much. I basically wear the same 2 blazers and 2 pants in a cycle with different undershirts for meetings and the same 2 pants and a few different shirts for the office.
I’m a female and I feel like there’s an expectation that I’m always wearing nice new things but I simply don’t have the money to spend on that crap. If I had money for new clothes it would certainly be used on my everyday casual clothes and not on office attire anyways.
But am I in the wrong?? Cause my boss makes comments every once in a while that are basically along the lines of ‘we need to get you some new clothes.’
Not sure where the ‘we’ comes from because they’ve never offered to pay for them. I think their trying to be sneaky and pressure me to get new clothes but I have no incentive to do that.
