Have a job where working 60 hours is generally expected and praised, everyone brags about it, but no one really seems happy. They talk about it like they're happy, but you can tell the job is sucking their soul out.
I can't imagine why people do this to themselves, I'm so tempted to move far out from the city, get a cheap house and have a relaxing job where I can mostly work on hobbies.
Everyone's friends are at work, they all go drink at the pub after a 14 hour day then pass out and do it all again. It's insane, the whole workplace is just brimming with stress.
And that's most creative industries, just hussle and stress to be the best. It's very much like they have something to prove to people in the STEM field. 'Our work is just as rigorous as yours if not more.' We had to work 10 times harder to get to where we are. We weren't born smart and gifted, so we have push ourselves more than you do.
Idk it's just not what I signed up for. I understand the snarkies, there's definitely a vibe that you are looked down upon for choosing a creative career, but I can only care so much. There's a lot of spite I think.
