I’ve been working for the same company for just over 15 years. Corporate/executive salary position with decent pay, but it’s draining. I have been completely miserable. And also learned that (without giving away identifying details) they’re not the company & people I thought they were and have no emotional connection there anymore.
Some recent changes have made it so I could get by without this job. And any future reentry into the work force would be in a drastically different capacity / field.
I have to be in the office in an hour and I’m panicking. Not because of anything in particular, I just don’t want to be f*cking be there – with every fiber of my being.
Assuming I have no contract and am in an at will US state, what are the real repercussions if I just say, I’m not coming anymore? No notice, just I’m done. Can I do that?
