I can’t land a job and need a change in direction

After choosing to study engineering at high school for 5 years, I enlisted for a 4 year apprenticeship in mechanical engineering in 2016. The training provider would find you employment relevant to the training course over the period of that time whilst they had in-house college staff provide learning material both theory and practical, to pass the exams and tech-cert. They found employment for me in 2017 in a diesel workshop that specialised in remanufacturing diesel fuel systems – however I was trained to use Lathes, milling machines, band-saws and basic workshop hand equip/tools.
No biggie.

Only a handful of these companies exist throughout the UK as it is a slightly rare trade. The college closed down in 2020 due to COVID. Later in 2020 I was made redundant for the same reason. I received a generic NVQ pass through the post despite not finishing the course or fully learning everything I was set to. Year 4 was meant to be CNC training and a few other handy things.

After being jobless for a year, my friend had managed to get me a job (Jan 2021) working with him at an aluminium fabrication workshop for min wage. They built, sold and fitted bi-fold doors, bi-fold/hybrid/commercial windows and patios etc. I was trained and once competent, picked up overtime and worked up the ranks V quickly. Became very likeable and trusted, worked mostly in-house but sometimes away on site too. The company neglected its workers and was very chaotic but because beggars can’t be choosers I didn’t complain and stuck with the job. I was quickly made to cover for the manager of the workshop frequently and delegate work and correspond with diff departments and ensure KPI’s were met. I basically became team-leader without the pay. Despite the pressure I did my job very well. After almost year, I couldn’t take the stress and left in Nov 2021 to focus on my mental health. I ended up trying a job working for Amazon which started in Nov 2021 and ended in Dec 2021. It was easy warehousing and the money was okay, however the commute was too far and I couldn’t do 2 hours every evening night shifts. So I left. I’ve since had no interest going back into the areas I’m used to. I can be a grunt on min wage, but I don’t want to.

I’ve been jobless, my mental health has severely declined and I’m no longer comfortable going back to the workplace due to my mental health. I apply like crazy for all sorts of jobs within my ability and get rejected every time. It’s depressing.

I’m relatively good with computers and a wizard with my phone, (jailbreaking nerd lol) and I have also have interest in crypto & have started mining Helium HNT as well as holding and staking other low-risk coins like BNB, SOL & CRO as hobby and side thing. I’d like to learn and set up other ‘side things’ and try and learn other new skills whilst I’m at home. Where could I start? What could people who have maybe had similar experiences recommend? I’d love to land a work from home job but can’t seem to even get accepted for an interview. I spent a week working at a call centre in 2018 as a side job and that’s even on my CV. I thought it would get my foot in the door for customer service telephone based jobs but I still get rejected. I’m sorry this is so long and if you got this far, thank you reading the whole thing.
