My current job is fine, compared to some of the stories I see here. But, I still want better.
I'm job hunting, but I worry that “we're a toxic, employee-hating, annual-leave denying hell hole who assumes we own you; we should be more important than your family and free time” isn't going to be in the job description or company website. (And recruiters won't tell you who the company is most of the time, either.)
So, it seems like a real gamble to move. Even with more pay, or a promise of flexible working hours, it could be a hell hole. And I won't know until I've given up on what I've got.
