I show up early every day. I clock out late. I bust my ass every single day and I get perfect performance reviews. I keep this place running and i know that NO ONE gives a shit like I do. And yet, I’ve been here two years (longer than almost anyone else btw) and my boss has never once entertained the idea of paying me more or promoting me. Instead every time they need someone new for a supervisor role they pick someone with less experience who gives less of a shit. And I know the reason! All day while I’m working inside the building, management and like half the staff are out smoking behind the building at the picnic tables. And they’re out there for hours on end while I’m actually doing things. And when it comes time for management to promote someone, guess what, its always someone from this stupid smoking clique. I dont even smoke anymore, and admittedly I’m not the best at “shooting the shit,” so i have no idea how to advance
