Is this bullshit by anyone else’s standards?

The job I'm currently working now was advertised as 100% remote when I was hired. Around the end of summer this year, management wanted to make us of their office space and/or make a better workplace “culture” so they started making us come in once a week. There's still talks of them bumping it up to around twice a week… On top of that, they're also now expecting that I start interviewing newhires. Okay, any new compensation for this new responsibility? No, it's a fucking amazon giftcard for like $100 if you do 10 interviews, totalling maybe 4 hours of prep plus 1 hour each interview, so 14 hours, which comes out to well below minimum wage. This time is still paid as normal hours, but I would expect better than such a pathetic bonus for extra responsibilities. Attempts to negotiate about this have been met with excuses from management, but we know the real reason is because they have hundreds of interviews to do and don't have the budget to offer fair compensation for them. The company screwed themselves by making this a responsibility everybody has to take on instead of choosing 4-5 people to do them, because now it's either give the whole team a raise, or give them something as pathetic as a $100 bonus.

It's scary to look for new work right now in tech, but I won't know if there's something better out there until I do look. I really did hit the lottery with the freedom, culture and benefits of this job, but this is just unacceptable.
