Companies love to institutionalize.

Today I quit my job I've been at for about four months. It was a small company that was very close-knit and all the workers knew each other. Being a construction company we were grouped up into pairs of two. Me and my coworker did not get along in the slightest and every day of the last four months was a battle. The issue was he was so absorbed into the company and in his eyes he owed his entire existence to this job. It was honestly really sad to see but I couldn't do it anymore. When I told my boss Im putting in my two weeks notice I was told to “F” off and to just leave already, because by leaving I'd be making the biggest mistake of my life and abandoning “the family”. I don't understand the love for a company. Couldn't be me.
