We are a small office. But there are four of us. Enough to split the days a bit. But, nope. I was the only one who had to work the day before Thanksgiving, and some the day after. I’m the only one who has to work the day after New Year’s Day. This week, I’m the only one who has to work the day before Christmas Eve.
It’s not so much that our office is open these days that bothers me. They’re technically not holidays. It’s that I’m the only one being volunteered to work on these days.
So I’m taking a personal day today. Since everyone but me gets this Friday off. Since everyone but me got the day before and after Thanksgiving off. Since everyone but me will get the day after New Year off, I want to get mine. So I’m taking it…
