Remote only for the few??

So a few months back I was specifically told by my direct manager we can’t work remote / hybrid because we have a new building and management doesn’t want us remote. But this same manager received a laptop after his wife had a baby and he now gets to work from home ? How exactly is that fair ? Our branch manager also has been working remote. I don’t think people with kids should get special perks like more flexible schedules/remote options when others are denied them. I am looking for a new job currently just because certain people get these special schedules but I’m told my ass needs to be in a chair for 9 hours a day minimum. It’s bullshit.
