I work for a massive media company and it’s my third year at the company. The last two years we received EOY bonuses. While it wasn’t life changing money, it was basically an extra pay check and a nice gesture that helped motivate me to enter the new year with a positive and affirmed attitude that validated my hard work. Not this fucking year. After leading the company in volume of content produced and organic views drawn to our website, I’ve thanked with…nothing.
On top of it all, every single option in our 401(k) plan was negative YTD this year. All 50 or so options in the red. Mine’s down 20% meaning I basically contributed nothing this year.
And I’m supposed to bust my ass for this shit? Why exactly? The systems set up for us minnows to only benefit in extremely good years and get fucked the rest of the time. So over it
